| Bio: | Théodred has spent the last few years of his life in Dol Amroth, away from the land he very nearly came to rule after events at the Fords of Isen. Knowing that only death would follow for the Riddermark, and desiring to keep at least one possible heir to Théoden's throne alive, former Advisor Théobold and Elfhelm the First Marshal launched a plan that no one was told about, even the prince himself until the day it was to happen, one in which Théodred would be spirited away to Dol Amroth and hidden there for the greater good of his people until such a time that the throne could be reclaimed. It was a selfish plan but it was also a desperate last ditch effort and that was ultimately why he agreed to it. Planning initially to say that Théodred had died however, took a nastier turn when he was wounded in the Battle and could not be treated right away, causing infection to set in, and by the time that he reached the shores of Belfalas, Théodred was rather ill for a long time, long enough in fact that he was not recovered enough to attend Aragorn's coronation, take his own place as ruler of the Riddermark or to discourage the idea that he had died. The truth be told, Dred, as he's more commonly called, has in the process of his time in Dol Amroth began to fall in love with it and in some ways he fits into Dol Amroth a bit better than he ever fit into the Riddermark. He has genuinely enjoyed learning a bit of reading though writing is far beyond him, found that he was as fascinated by the winemaking process as the drink itself and has been known to make off with Imrahil's clothes if none of his own are clean or in his immediate vacinity. Sometimes he finds it easy to forget he was not born here, particularly when his dark hair resembles that of his Gondorian grandmother, Morwen. It's things like this which give Dred a very difficult time when he considers returning to the Riddermark for more than a visit, though he does feel guilty about his inability to connect to home. It's just that he likes things better in Dol Amroth, particularly when it comes to considering the other way his life has changed. When his long illness had taken its toll, the healers in Dol Amroth discovered that it had worsened Dred's vision to a point that he is now what we would consider legally blind, leaving the idea of Marshaling as something long ago left to his past. At first this was depressing and took a certain toll, but with the help of visual aids created by an Amrothian glassworker, his vision is improved a little, at least enough that once he is familiar with a place, Dred can walk alone there and unaided. One of those things that does frustrate Dred about his new life is his strange new phobia regarding horses. While he still does admire them from a distance and would love to be close enough to them to ride again, he finds he is unable to do so. Every time that he gets close enough to a horse, particularly those on the larger side, he tends to have a bad physical reaction. As a result, Dred generally stays away from them, even though he sort of wishes he could change that. After all, what else of his past does he have to keep alive now? Théodred is played by Sar and is making his way around Middle Earth as Richard Armitage | |||||||||
